Shirley Martin Alford, widow of Wesley Moore Alford passed into the loving arms of Jesus on January 28th, 2018. Shirley was born in Conway on June 11, 1937. She was the daughter of the late David Emerson and Lillie Shelley Martin. Mrs. Alford was predeceased by her beloved husband and son, Wesley and John Wesley, a sister Mary Evangeline and a special friend Hayes Roberts. Shirley retired after a long career on the Aynor High School Cafeteria Staff. She then earned a CNA certificate from Horry Georgetown Tech and began taking care of the elderly and needy through the Horry County Council on Aging. Shirley could best be described as a vibrant, endearing personality who loved her family and her church very much. She also loved to dance and socialize with her dear friends. She is survived by her daughters Connie Johnson( James) of Conway and Becky Fox ( Ken) of Aynor, her grandsons, Jamie Johnson(Lauren) , Brent Johnson, Stuart Fox(Candice), Andrew Fox (Katie) and Everette Fox( Victoria);her three great grandchildren, William Briggs Fox, Andi Leigh Fox and Kenley Rebecca Fox. She is also survived by a sister Naomi (Pop) Redwine of Tennessee, two special nieces Joyce and Jan and by a special friend Ray Morros. Shirley has requested that no flowers are to be purchased for her ceremony and instead, that any contributions be made in her name to Aynor First Baptist Church PO Box 651 Aynor, SC 29511, or donations can be made to Mutts and Mittens Manor Animal Rescue and Transport, 9095 Hwy 701 South, Conway, SC 29527.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE

A “Celebration of Life” social will be held at Aynor First Baptist Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 5:00.

VISITATION

The family will receive friends following  the service.
