Leona (Hardwick) Gerrald

 Mrs. Leona Hardwick Gerrald, age 94, of Galivants Ferry, passed away at her residence on Thursday, February 26, 2026.  Mrs. Leona was the wife of the late Frank Gerrald and the daughter of the late Harmon and Zilphia Martin Hardwick.  In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by one son, Tommy H. Gerrald; one great-granddaughter, Kristin Floyd; one sister, Clara Lou Crawley; and one brother, S.B. Hardwick.  Mrs. Leona was a member of Rehoboth Community Church.  She was a very artsy person who loved crossword puzzles, word searches, quilting, and crocheting.  Surviving Mrs. Leona is one son, James Hugh Gerrald; four grandchildren, Chris Gerrald (Crystal), Lauralee Celi (Oscar), Ginger Huggins (Lloyd) and Ethan Gerrald; five great grandchildren, Colby Gerrald (Mary Susan), Caleb Gerrald, Blakely Huggins, Erin Celi, and Alexis Celi; one brother, Mitchell Hardwick (Libby); adopted children, Denny Carl and Brenda Rabon; one daughter in law, Trudy Gerrald; and special friend and caretaker, Linda Johnson.  The family would also like to remember and thank the shopping buddies of Mrs. Leona, JoAnn Jenerette, Lavina Johnson, and Sue Rabon.  A funeral service for Mrs. Leona will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Rehoboth Community Church with Rev. Jimmy Floyd, Denny Carl Rabon, and Rev. Mark Player officiating.  The burial will take place in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.  The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for all their help, love, and care during this difficult time.
